TDY Rentals and Blue Star Mothers of America, Texas Chapter 20, are providing care packages to Coast Guard members serving away from home on extended assignments.

MISSION: Operation River Wall / SWB Support

DURATION: 4-12 Months-ish

ENVIRONMENT: High Heat, Riverine, Urban/Rural Mix

You have your orders, you have your seabag, and you have the standard guidance on going downrange. But the standard issue loadout doesn’t account for 12-hour shifts on an aluminum hull in 105°F heat, or living out of temporary lodging for 365 days. You also may be deploying as a detachment and/or without the luxury of a full pre-deployment workup cycle with the accompanying support.

Supporting folks downrange is what we do. Little things that you add to your loadout can really boost your mental and physical health while downrange, which is good for the mission, your shipmates, and you.
