The program is designed to protect the residence, eligible furnishings provided by TDY Rentals, and the personal belongings clients bring with them during their stay. Coverage is available throughout all 50 states and more than 180 countries, helping provide added peace of mind wherever an assignment takes you.

Protection Built Into Your TDY Rentals Stay

That is why TDY Rentals carries Short Term Secure through Gallagher on behalf of every client, at no additional charge to the client. We are passionate about taking care of service members and government travelers so they can focus on their mission and make an impact that resonates back home.

Depending on the applicable policy terms and the services included in your stay, Short Term Secure can include protection for the residence, eligible TDY Rentals furnishings, personal belongings, accidental damage, and liability. For lodging-only arrangements, no TDY Rentals furnishings are present, so protection for TDY-owned furniture does not apply.

What Short Term Secure Includes

Short Term Secure provides three important layers of protection during a covered stay. The limits and deductibles below come from the program materials and remain subject to the applicable policy terms, conditions, exclusions, eligibility requirements, and claims review.

Coverage Details

Personal Property Protection

Up to $50,000, with a $250 deductible, for eligible personal belongings kept inside or temporarily away from the residence. Program materials describe this protection as all-risk coverage at full replacement cost.

Accidental Damage Protection

Up to $15,000, with a $250 deductible, for eligible accidental damage to the residence during the stay, including damage caused by pets.

Global Liability Protection: Up to $300,000, with a $250 deductible, for covered personal accidents occurring at the property and injury to others.

Property, Furnishings, and Your Belongings

The program is designed to provide protection across the temporary-housing arrangement. Depending on the services included in your stay, that can include the residence, eligible furnishings supplied by TDY Rentals, your eligible personal belongings, covered accidental damage, and liability incidents. Certain high-value categories share a $5,000 aggregate sublimit for any one loss, including jewelry, fine art, cameras and equipment, furs, computers and tablets, oriental rugs, musical instruments, and coin collections. A licensed Gallagher representative can explain how policy limits, deductibles, exclusions, and documentation requirements may apply.

If Something Happens During Your Stay

Report any loss, damage, accident, or other potential incident to your TDY Rentals representative immediately. The claim-reporting window is short, so do not wait until well after your departure to notify us. Photograph any damage, preserve relevant receipts or ownership records, and cooperate with the move-out inspection and documentation process. TDY Rentals staff cannot quote, bind, interpret, or confirm insurance coverage. Short Term Secure is the program associated with your TDY Rentals stay. Gallagher separately offers additional insurance products that may be helpful when relocating, returning to the United States, or beginning an overseas assignment. Those products are separate from Short Term Secure and require consultation with a licensed Gallagher representative.
