You are eligible to receive HSTA/TQSE when you depart post. You can choose when to begin receiving HSTA/TQSE. Remember, TQSE is for your PCS-related expenses, therefore you may receive it before beginning work at your new domestic assignment.
When does the clock start on temporary housing versus home leave? Meaning, would I have to start my new assignment the next work day after relocating to DC, for example, in order to qualify for TQSE? Or can I move to the temp housing while still in home leave status (and have it covered) before starting the actual job?
